You need to have or download the New Super Mario Bros rom ,,,,, Must be the USA version of the game …. then follow the instructions in the READ ME! (important).txt file which comes with the
download on how to patch the New Super Mario Bros rom. then you can play this version.

If you think 1-A is hard/frustrating with the bullet bills, or the “maze” you should probably quit while you’re ahead, I think this is not the game for you.

I wonder about all of the star coin differences and bonusroom changes between 1.0 and 2.0 and between 2.0 and 2.5. I know several star coins were hidden in 2.0 and more were hidden in 2.5.
I can easily guess where the star coins were in the earlier versions.
For example, in version 2.0, I think you got star coin #2 in 2-3 by hitting the invisible blocks and hitting the switch. That was exactly where another user thought it was. The earlier versions were similar, except that it was easier to get all of the star coins.

That’s a bit confusing!
You’re playing the whole game on the BOTTOM screen!
In teh lava section there is a door which leads to a room where you get back to the TOP screen of your DS!
Once you made that and followed to the dorr, you are in the “door in the beginning” room again!
PS: You need TURTLE MARIO (to smash the bricks) and MINI Mario at once… Mini Mushroom should be in the ITEM BOX! Once you smashed the bricks, go under the tile with Mini Mario!

In my opinion on the secret exit of 7-4, much easier to “find” than 2-3, and much easier than 7-5 where you have to do that specific task that involves a star and a fireball… and apparently easier to “find” than the 3rd star coin (of 7-5) which I have yet to find completely.
Depends how observant you are, you probably found the room but didn’t do the required action, you have to go on a little “killing spree!” (Fire-Mario recommended area) And then do a lot of jumping… also if memory serves it’s also where you find 2 star coins, before the secret pole.
The secret exits in 7-5 and 2-3 are hard to find.
How hard is it to find the secret exit in 7-4?

Thanks, I would never have guessed that, I am now stuck in the last tower, I have used shell Mario to break a barrier to try to reach the door stuck in the wall but I think I also need mini Mario as I still can;t reach the door, I remember this problem from version 2 but I can’t remember how to do it. I can’t find a mini Mario anywhere in the level.
Has anyone got the second coin in World 8 Level 8? The one right at the start of the level. I have been trying for ages so any hint would be great.

SKJmin has removed it and might release it with version 3. He has said lots of times in the version 2 thread that there were lots of bugs in it and he no longer remembers the password. Sorry, you will have to wait for version 3. We are all hoping it will come one day
I know it was removed from the newest version since it didn’t work properly (getting the password) in the older version. He wrote in a thread somewhere when people were asking about it that he would release them one day. I seen that and was wondering if he has released it yet.

I am now trying to get coin 2 in world 8-8. I keep dropping bombos over the coin but nothing happens. Am I right to drop the bombs over the coin to break the ground or is there another way?
What happens if you choose door 03 in the last room of 7-A with a question? I saw what happens if you choose the other 3 doors. If you choose door 01 you have to die, door 02 takes you to the flagpole, and door 04 takes you to star coin 3.

YOU need MINI MARIO for it!
Go to the right next to the yellow pipe! You have to use the CANNON-BILL with Mini Mario to use it as a “trampoline”…
Hit those 3 switches there and walljump back to right…
You will realize some new blocks! Go up!

I am nearly there. I can’t find the second coin in world 8 level 7. I am in a small chamber as mini mario and there are some yellow blocks beneath me which I cant break because I am small. I think it might be around here somewhere. I hit a block and a spring came out but I dont know what to do with it. A hint would be a big help. Thanks

You have to use the BOTTOM SCREEN ITEM, a mushroom for example!
Mini Mario is not be able to lower the “Donut” plains
Now I replayed a bit of 6-A and a few questions…
First, about the room of death blocks, is this supposed to be done with mini-mario?
The thought hadn’t occurred to me until after I suffered through it with super mario, and I don’t want to go through it again just to see how much easier it might have been, or, if possible.
Next, question or hint about coin 3. I noticed in the pipe room, cheating room, and the just kidding room the ceiling can be broken away like regular bricks (or if you’re mini or regular mario they change into regular bricks). Is this part of a hint to the final coin, is this a bug or what?
Maybe the MicroSD card is included with the R4i card.
I think you just buy a MicroSD card and an R4i Card. You put the MicroSD card into the computer, then you put it into the R4i card. You put the R4i card into the DSi. Is that correct? or am I wrong?

From what I remember Star coin #2 of 6-A is really easy compared to coin #1 (the one that has the instant death blocks).

That needs a small trick^^
You have to run to the “hole” and press in the VERY LAST corner of the edge “DOWN”!! (As you would crouch to fall faster as a non TURTLE)
The DOWN button makes the shell sliding when you press it in the last second before falling
Same in the water, just look at my walktrough from 2-A (@4:19)
He gets a boost in the water!!

grr! I thought that second coin had to do with one of those blocks but hadn’t the patience to break them all. After I saw it done I assist-hopped off a bullet instead of going to get the jump platform (easier IMHO).
Also if you think 2-1 #3 and 2-3 #2 coins were hard try coin 1 of 6-A!
I just watched the video of 2-1 #3 and I did it much different way than is shown, LOL, I don’t think I could describe though.

If you go back to the room with the exit sign after you have gone through all the doors I think you will find something has changed. There is also another exit high above the doors which will become available when you have done the doors

Yeah same firmware here , like i said it worked fine all day then stopped , all other games on the SD run still but this one just wont work no more i have re patched the rom deleted old game added new game etc , just hangs on the loading screen , i guess all i can try now is format the sd card and fresh install it all.

Hi must say i only stumbled across this hack yesterday , it is brilliant my kids havent stop playing it well thats not true lol.
2 3ds consoles one with an r4 the other with an acekard2i
its still runnig fine on the r4 but the acekard just suddenly stopped running it , i have deleted the game and save file and recreated a new game too , when ever i do the game sits there on the white screen after the loading screen and wont go any further , what do you think is the problem , before i reformat the sd card and try that???

I think the route to the first coin in W5 ghost is over on the far right side of the house. You need to be mini Mario to find the route through the square blocks and somewhere on the right there is a warp to a very difficult area. Eventually you will come to the coin. Good luck

In W5 Ghost when you come through the door that leads to the final run up past the monsters to get to the ordinary exit jump up as soon as you exit the door instead. That will lead you to the secret exit.

The Secret Exit is i nthe same room where the 1st coin is!
Once you GO BACK after getting the SC#1, you haveto activate the orange switch to go back, RUN FAST TO THE BEGINNING of the course! There is a platofrm^^
And coin#2 is in the room with the hanging blocks! Stay on the 6th, 7th or 8th block when the time rins out, the blocks will go back to top and while you are staying on them you will be driected the the warpzone

I am in level 6-6 and have the first and third coin. In the centre area of the first lot of gold bars I can see what might be a door high up and outlined by invisible coins. I can’t get up there. Is this the way to the second coin? How can I get up to the door?

I am in level 6-2. I have gone down a green pipe and hit a blue switch on the left. When I rush back a door has appeared under the pipe but when I try to go through it I get killed. There is no floor under it and I just drop down. Is this right?

The second coin is not that easy
Just beat the FIRST SECTION and enter the GREEN horiontal pipe (which leads you to the final flagpole)
But don’t go to the flagpole, just RE-ENTER the pipe! The course looks the smae but it isn’t
You will realize the “new” Koopas… Theyy’re RED instead of GREEN^^
Just go to the “beginning” of that new section
The MEGA MARIO one is tricky…
I will give you a hint, don’t smash all pipes, try to jump ON the pipes and go to right while jumping on them!
When you try to smash all pipes, you’ll NEVER get the coin

You need to use the bombs to help you get the coin in the ‘go down’ room

I am only got halfway through the game but so far but I would say that the hardest for me was the second coin in level 3-A. You have to be really really fast to get it. Make sure you can save your game before you start this section as you get killed over and over again.

I’m sure you have realized the 2 exlamation marks (coins) after beating the first Bullet Bill section!After leaving the forest section to the desert section, you woill see 2 koopas and 2 blocks!
Try to get those 2 items in the blocks and REENTER the FOREST pipe!
You will see that the eylamation mark room has changed a little bit!
Kill all 3 spineys with the FLOWER MARIO (you have to catch both blocks^^)
and a path will open. Get the mini mushroom from the top right corner and enter…

Please post a walkthrough for the last coin in level 3-C. I remember from your last version that it has something to do with the flying block. I have the flying block in the level, and I am mega Mario, but I just can’t get it.
You have to get the RED FLYING boy near the STAIRWAY!
Jump on it from bottom… It must be close bewteen bottom and flying box, so when mario stands up, he gets autmatically forwareded THROUGH the stairway

At last – what a nasty trick – a hidden vine and a koopa shell several rooms away ! I have finally got it but it was not easy. It makes the coin in level 2-1 seem easy.

Just grab it and run with it over the invisible blocks…
Then throw over the STARMAN box, and once it hits the box (which is looking liem an usual solid brick) a VINE appears and yo ucan climb it up!

A very complicated route through the maze of green pipes will take you to a ‘metroid’ level. All three coins are in there.

Thanks – at last I have got to it, I was taking the wrong route going under the front of the ship. Have you got the third coin in level 3-A? I have asked SKJmin and he mentions a room with a red koopa shell but I haven’t found that room.
@Pookyroo my wife just got in the red pipe your on about … you have to exsplode a bomb in
the right hand corner of the ships top deck …. its the bit near the end before you reach the
exit pipe. you come up from between the packing crates where the bullets come in 4s from
both sides. once you jump back up from the creates just go right and then up onto the top deck
you will see 3 bombs coming towards you .. as the first bomb gets in the corner below you just
drop on it and let it exsplode in the corner … a hole in the ship will appear go down and walk
right to the red pipe … hope this helps m8
Thanks SKJmin, have found it. The only thing I am stuck on now is in the castle in level 2. Under the ship there is a red tube with an arrow pointing to it. The problem is I can’t get to it I keep hitting an invisible barrier all around it.

How do I get to the secret exit in level 2-A? I am in a grey room with rotating fire and if I look up I can see a corridor with a green pipe which might lead there but I can’t get to it.

You can find 2-3 #1 only when you urn on your sound!!
While walking in the ground you will hear noises (running on desert noises), but there ois a small place, where is sound different!
Under the 2 greem Koopas. Stomp your way down!

cant find #1 i think it used to be left of the P on a platform in the sky but their seems
to be a choose your charactor box their now …. as always any help is much appreciated

mean the warp zone on the right of the green pipe @ the end of the first level .. the one with
the two green turtles walking in the blocks above the pipe … this leads to a room with lots of jumping boxes in it and a yellow pipe on the right up high … trakes me to a blue swimming room

Jump up right at the start of the level and follow that route to go as far to the right as you can. Keep going right even if you think you can’t. That is the route to the secret exit.

The door to the secret exit in 2.3 is near the pipe to the normal exit, but it is invisible.

Yes, but that was the only bit of cheating. I would never have done it without saving as I got killed more times than I can count.
Thanks for the help SKJmin. After trying all day I finally have it, it is the most difficult coin in all your hacks. I can’t believe I have actually got it at last.

Help ! I am stuck in world 2 level 1. I think it is the second gold coin – I have the first. I have gone up to a door and am now in a small area on a blue platform with a green turtle shell beside me. I can see the gold coin in the bottom left hand corner but can’t get to it. I can also see a yellow switch and am thinking that if I push the green shell then it will hit the switch but it doesn’t. How do I get this coin? Has anyone got this, if so please help.

However, once you enter the FIRST pipe, you will see some half-visible coins under the mushroom!
Try to get UNDER the mushroom, wheil making a wallkick on the red big bushroom to the right!
Be sure you can smash BRICKS (–> Super Mario+ required)

Hey Im having issues trying to play this on R4 SDHC Revolution for 3DS/DSi – RTS Lite
Ive attempted just running this on the YS Menu as well as Wood R4 1.36
Ys menu freezes when attempting to load the file and Wood R4 freezes at the white screen
Any ideas as to what I can do to get this working on this cheap card ?
